CMN Yacht Division Tara

Since her birth, Tara (formerly Antarctica) has had a special place among superyachts. She was originally designed and built as an expedition vessel for the purpose of ocean exploration. Her powerful aluminum hull has a rounded (like the famous Fram) hull shape that prevents her from shrinking even in heavy ice. Powerful insulation and efficient heating system maintains a comfortable microclimate even at very low temperatures - Tara is sometimes described in the literature as the world's first icebreaking sailing yacht. Due to its specific nature, Tara has no guest cabins on board - in addition to the regular crew, she has a research team of five or six researchers. The boat is also associated with tragic events - it was on board that the famous yachtsman Peter Blake was killed by robbers. It was after this incident that she got her new name, which in Maori means "Star Trek" - that was the name of Peter Blake's very first yacht.
