Passe Partout was the third sailing yacht built by Jongert for the same owner, a very experienced yachtsman. As on both previous occasions, the design brief called for a boat capable of long-distance sailing in all areas of the world's oceans. The very name of the yacht is reminiscent of the famous Jules-verne's hero from the novel "In 80 Days Around the World" - Passepartout.
An important distinction, however, was the customer's requirement to bring the volumes and comfort onboard as close as possible to the standards usual for motor yachts. The large width of the yacht and the high superstructure with a flybridge have contributed to the fulfillment of this wish. Her interiors are unusually spacious, with lots of soft curves and very high quality teak work.
Passe Partout has a unique folding keel with hinges that allow each half to be folded in half. In this way the draft of the yacht can be reduced from 5.3 to 3.2 meters.
